This is the time of year when I am preparing my studio for the annual studio tour on June 11 and 12. This year I will have fewer little pieces, but this will be one of them. Captured on one of our rare sunny days in late winter, this is a scene from downtown Sidney that will be familiar to all its residents.

I like this. Lovely sunlight, all the more appreciated when it is rare (I get it, I live in Vancouver). YOu painting brings to mind Edward Hopper's work. We may be on the island the Saturday of your open studio this year. If so, I'll come by. I've kept an eye on your blog for quite awhile now. It will be nice to meet you.
