Early Morning Low Tide at Patricia Bay

oil on board 9"x 12"
As much as possible these days, I am painting in the early morning or late afternoon because the light is so beautiful. This is the large bay close to us that has a lovely walk and a government research facility located on it. The bay was important for First Nations communities as well and I once discovered on the shore  an arrowhead made of chert -a hard pink rock - which is not found locally. I took it to the museum and the experts told me that it likely originated in Oregon and was 1500 to 2000 years old.
